The Soap Shoppe at Hearthwood Farm began crafting soap, for our family, in 1994. We spent nearly two years researching soap making techniques, recipes, oils and ingredients. All soaps are crafted completely by hand, from the finest food grade ingredients. Soaps are made from a base of saponified Olive, Coconut, and Palm oils.
There are no animal fats, perfumes, artificial preservatives or dyes used in crafting these soaps. Soaps are scented with only the finest aromatherapy-grade pure essential oils and herbs. If a fragrance oil is added, it is of the highest quality and designed specifically for use in soap. The use of organically grown and harvested ingredients are a top priority at Hearthwood Farm.
All of our soaps contain glycerin, a natural by-product of The Soap Shoppe's soap making process. All of our soaps are 100% biodegradable and ecologically friendly.
We create our soaps in small batches that are stirred by hand the 'old fashioned' way and each bar is cut and trimmed by hand. Every bar of soap has undergone an extensive curing process of at least ten weeks. This "aging" period allows for the bars to become hard and mild.
A well-cured bar will require a few uses before it is "broken in," and you experience its full and rich lather. Every batch of soap has been pH tested and falls within the lower (milder) range suitable for hair and skin care products. All of our soaps are cruelty free and have not been tested on animals. As with any product, use common sense precautions, and in the case of any discomfort discontinue use.
